Fire resistance is one of the major fire safety attributes of a building. The building system, including building elements, building components and componets of building services systems, shall comply with relevant statutory requirements in fire resistance. In this training course, the fire test standards, practices of laboratory tests for bguilding elements and components of building services systems will be presented. Traditional and modern fire resisting materials will be introduced. The procedures of statutory submission and requirements on certification will be discussed. Case studies will also be included in thistraining course to provide practical examples of different preoblems and common errors which may be encountered in different stages of building projects.
