Compliance with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) |
In the UK and European Unions, compliance with EMC for electrical equipment in the built environment is made statutory by UK¡¦s EMC Regulations and EC¡¦s EMC Directives. As more and more equipment has built-in micro-electronics, EMC is moved to a rapidly changing field similar to that in the LZC technologies that Engineers must keep up with. The increased use of highly sensitive digital electronics in the built environment has made many traditional electrical installation practices inadequate to contain the EMC emissions from influencing the proper functional of the electronic devices. This seminar addresses the fundamental requirements in the UK and EU statutory regulations and the latest internationally recogized engineering practices can help the designers and installers to minimise the EMC emissions in the electrical installation.
Speakers: Dr. Anthony Chi Man Sung, PhD in Building Engineering (Electrical Services) from UMIST in 1998. Venue : Y306, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University Date / Time: 29 Oct 2009 / 6:30 pm
